This new body of work started in 2021, has been influenced by the macro-imagery of the human body seen through lens of robotic surgery. Studying stills that were akin alien landscapes, I was inspired that something so fundamentally us, could look so foreign, unreal, abstract; cut off from all context. I have moved this notion to the natural world, looking at such a small distance and experimenting with scale, to produce paintings of the surreal, beautiful, alien world that lives right beside us but often goes unnoticed and unperceived.
